Scouting report
Omogrosso is a big righty who can dial it up with his fastball. He had Tommy John Surgery in 2005, costing him a season in college, but still projected to be a decent reliever. He throws from a 3/4 arm angle after shifting between that and sidearm. He has spent time as a starter in the minors to give him extra work, but this has never been seen as his long-term destination. He throws a good 4-seam fastball that sits in the 92-95 range, a 2-seamer and an above average slider. His slider hasn’t quite come back to the plus pitch it was regarded as before the injury, but it is still a good pitch. When he throws strikes, he is very effective, but his control escapes him too often. Omogrosso tore his labrum mid-2009 and that may end up killing his career. It’s a tough injury to bounce back from and he already has an injury riddled past.

Major League Outlook: Above average middle reliever/setup man if he can improve his control
ETA: Late 2010 if he can get and stay healthy
